Ride Board

We have established a ride board to assist with car pooling.  You can find it here.

Albury Transport

On the day of arrival there is a public bus Route 908 that goes to CSU Thurgoona.  There will also be a mini bus doing runs but it will help us get people to the conference and set up as quickly as possible if people make use of this service.

Buses leave from QEII Square. A map is available here.  Ask the driver for CSU Thurgoona.  Fares are $2.10 for NSW concession card holders and $4.10 for everyone else.  Bring change.  For more info see Martin’s Albury.

The mini bus will be picking people up from Albury Train Station.  Wait at the station to get a lift.  If you can, RSVP a lift by sending an SMS to the Registration Desk Phone on 0458 489 665.  You can also use this number throughout the conference to contact the Registration Desk, please save it in your phone.  In case of emergency please contact 000.

It you arrive by bike, it is roughly a half hour bike ride/10km to the campus, and there is an awesome bike path that goes all the way from the station to Thurgoona and up to the uni. From the station, turn right at the traffic lights and head north al ong Young St. At the next set of traffic lights (car dealer and palm trees on the corner), turn right and head up and over the pedestrian bridge that crosses the freeway. Turn left off the bridge and your on the path to Thurgoona. Follow path all the way to Thurgoona and when you get to Thurgoona I’m pretty sure there are signs to the uni. Main entrance of uni is on Elizabeth Mitchell Dve.  Please check with the relevant train or bus company that you can carry your bike on the bus or train.

Only a few state networks are organising transport to SoS, so you can use the information below to get in contact with the fabulous person listed below from your state if you would like jump on board the communal bus/train/bike!

The organising collective has had some discussions about the dates of the conference. The conference will be from the 6th until the 10th of July, but please read the following carefully. Due to the fact that CSU will go back to uni on the 11th and we will need to pack up, we need people to leave on the afternoon of the 10th. We are currently looking at arrangements for those who absolutely cannot leave on the 10th, but we would expect this to be a minimum of people. As compensation for this, we would like SOS to start early on the 6th, and so we would like people to arrive in Albury in the afternoon/evening of the 5th. If you have any feedback/comments/concerns please direct them to the organising collective…
